Does the logs give any clues? What should be happening is
the MCP, on both death and birth, should scan the pid
directory inside cleanup_mcp and send ever-increasing kills
(starting with USR1) to all processes. Check the bucardo.vac.pid
file in there and see which vac it belongs to.
