For the archives, the error was when this command was run:

$ bucardo add table replica_mysql db=mysql

I made the output of such a command less confusing, although it 
is still an error. Current;y, only postgres databases can be used as 
sources with Bucardo. Thus, all tables must be defined within 
a Postgres database. You can use MySQL as a target, but no tables 
need to be explicitly defined: it should have the same ones as 
whatever source Postgres databases are in the same sync.
