[check_postgres] Possible to make action dbstats available through NRPE?

Hi List,

I’m using check_postgres.pl via NRPE and wish I had support for dbstats.
As I understand, the dbstats action is only available in Cacti-Format, why is that? Maybe the nagios Output needs the database being passed, because I don’t think it could handle multiple Databases with multiple perf-values in one output, but that should be ok.

Is that possible? It would be really great to have postgres stats in my icinga2-setup.
In case it matters: I’m using the plugin from the net-mgmt/nagios-check_postgres Port in FreeBSD
