Thanks again for the report: this has now been fixed and a new 
version of Bucardo, 4.4.4, has been released as of tonight. 
The only change is a few lines in Bucardo.pm, so you can simply 
replace that file or just do the standard:

tar xvfz Bucardo-4.4.4.tar.gz
cd Bucardo-4.4.4
perl Makefile.PL
make
sudo make install
