You should be able to modify any fields of any tables with 
the bucardo update sync foobar mycol=newval. If add sync 
does not support that, it should.

Yes, all conflict resolution is sync-level at the moment. Not sure if 
there will be a table/goat-level one in B5, or if it even makes 
sense anymore.
