[Bucardo-general] Unable to proceed with Bucardo installation

I've changed the values in pg_hba.conf to:

# TYPE   DATABASE   USER       METHOD
local       all                 postgres    trust
local       all                 all             trust

but I still received the same error. I then changed it to
# TYPE   DATABASE   USER       METHOD
local       all                 postgres    ident
local       all                 all             trust

and (trust, ident)

but I'm still receiving the same error.
