This will be fixed.

Yes, at least for the Bucardo database. I think there might be some 
corner cases that may rule out 8.1 as a replication source, but 
I don't recall the details. I'll check into that. But in general, 
the only reason to use Bucardo with 8.1 (which is now very old) 
is to help upgrade to 9.1 :)
